20 Lessons on Tyranny as Read by John Lithgow

Back in 2016, Timothy Snyder, an American Historian, wrote "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century". According to the NY Times Book Review, On Tyranny is the “bracing guide for surviving and resisting America’s turn towards authoritarianism, from a public intellectual unafraid to make bold connections between past and present".

If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it. But if you don't have time to read the full book, then the next best thing is to watch this amazing performance by John Lithgow, "a wise advocate for civil discourse and civic engagement", who volunteered to read the "Twenty Lessons", which is essentially Timothy Snyder's intro to the book. If you make time for nothing else today, make time to watch this video. And share it with everyone you know.

Can't think of a better way to spend 10 minutes! Thanks, Liz, and John Lithgow!
