Bill Summary

This bill would remove protections afforded to young people by preventing or restricting access to gender-affirming care, and further seeks to to restrict youths from being raised in gender-affirming ways by parents or guardians. This legislation seriously contradicts what the medical and psychiatric professionals have determined to be true about the positive and life-saving benefits of LGBTQ+ kids being raised in a gender-affirming environment.

HB1376 is a punch in the face to youth and parent's rights and should be vehemently OPPOSED! Parents know what is best for their own children and government should stay out of it! This bill is especially egregious given that republicans scream about allowing parents to raise their kids as they see fit (looking at you anti-vaxers!), and this bill is just another example of republican hypocrisy. Allowing youths to be raised in a gender-affirming way is proven beneficial to both sys kids and kids who fall elsewhere on the gender spectrum. Just as the world is not black and white, gender is far from being just boy or girl. Our NH legislature needs to shut this down and vote NO on this bill. Passing this bill would open-wide the door to full government meddling in how parents raise their children. We say KEEP OUT!
